HIFU Parkland: How Does It Work?

HIFU Parkland is gaining popularity as one of the most discreet and effective facelift procedures out there. It is quick to perform which means the patient can have it done during lunch break.

How does HIFU work? As we age our skin loses its elasticity and shape. This change begins in the foundational layers which support our skin – this is what triggers skin sagging and appearance of wrinkles. During a HIFU facial, the HIFU treatment machine uses high-energy ultrasound wave for body contouring instead. It target the foundational layers of the skin with ultrasound. These include the deep dermis and the SMAS layer (also known as the superficial muscular aponeurotic system—the layer that gets tightened in face-lifts). The waves heat and coagulate the cells and proteins there to cause cell disruption and death as well as new collagen formation. This leads to skin tightening around the face and neck areas.
